Dear friends, the inspirational Helen has finished her novel. Those of you who know her blog, A was Alarmed, will know she has been writing this novel with an adorable, fascinating, and demanding toddler to wrangle at all times. And that she redrafted the book ten whole times, half of those after having her confidence shaken by being given stupid advice by a person paid to give good advice.
I am so pleased for her. Do go over and say hurrah. She deserves far more hurrahs than she can get.

Wah, Reed, you are so lovely! I feel like crying! Thank you for being so lovely and encouraging. I’ve a feeling all this will sink in tomorrow. At the moment, I’m slowly sliding off my chair due to lack of sleep and Husband is in the background shouting: “Go to bed! Now!”
Oh, you know, right after I’d posted the book off, Kiko managed to boss me into a cafe where he knew he’d get attention from the staff, a free babycino, and a panoramic view of trains, buses and other ta-tas. I was on my last legs but I gave in. The Bossy Boots triumphs in the end! Then he tried to boss me into buying him cake but I said no, we have to draw the line somewhere. This amount of bossing comes from someone who knows six words. Phew, what a day, I can’t believe I’m still sane.
I like the bit about the stupid advice – that’s cool!! I should never have listened to that person in the first place.
