Firstly, yes yes yes, I’m rewriting the ultimate NanoWriMo post. Slowly. In between bouts of wailing and gnashing of teeth. Which will annoy my orthodontist.
Secondly, I don’t know if you had noticed, but it is less than two weeks, considerably less, until Christmas. I, personally, hadn’t noticed. So am only now having annual festive melt-down. I will be scouring the shops tomorrow for a stake of holly to plunge through the heart of the next person who tells me to cheer up about it all. Especally if they wave chocolates at me before saying: ‘Oh, but you can’t eat these, can you? I’ll finish them then.’
Secondly, part two, why am I the only human being on the planet who is perfectly happy, delighted even, with bath-salts and a book token?
And thirdly, I feel a seasonal verse coming on. [Surely they have a cream for that by now?]
Stay tuned.
*waits patiently for the seasonal verse*
There is a young poet called Reed
who’s clever in word and in deed;
we sit around lurking
(much better than working)
so the moment she’s posted, we read.
Ach, soddit, I never could do limericks.
AB
I’m glad you’re writing the post again. I wanted to write one on that topic myself, but I don’t know when I’ll get around to it (because of that whole holiday thing you mentioned!).
Book tokens are one of the best gifts I can receive,so you’re not alone. I do wish you could get tokens for second-hand bookshops, though, as I dearly love pottering through those looking for something interesting.
*waits patiently in line behind AB for the seasonal verse*
Bath salts and book tokens are my favourite things. With some of my rellies I’ve given up, basically, and gone out and bought rafts of book tokens for them. It’s just so much easier, especially when so many people have everything and the shops are full of tat.
I suddenly noticed it was almost Christmas today too. I’m starting to panic because I’m responsible for cooking Christmas dinner, and aren’t you supposed to order things like chickens? Anyway.
I’m not supposed to eat chocolate either, but I do.
I would also like to hear your seasonal verse.
