Actually, I think that the good luck you need is to stop the Editor killing Reed and vice versa, rather than the actual writing bit. Can you send the Editor away for a soothing holiday counting apostrophes somewhere?

I am in two minds as to posting IT here. Not because it is private as such, but out of sheer fuchsia embarrassment at letting anyone see anything in ratty old ‘first draft’ stage.
