[It has been nearly a week! Where the hell have you been? - Ed]

Back off. I went away for the weekend. I caught a cold. Any nagging will be met with violent outbreaks of sneezing.

[Fine.]

[So, what have you got for us today?]

Nothing.

[Oh, really.]

Yes, really. Like I said, cold. Remember I channel literary inspiration through my sinuses.

[How glamorous. So what exactly are you doing here? Reminding people you’re not dead?]

Yurgh, my cold was contagious through cyberspace. It still hasn’t gone away completely. It has only hung around for two weeks. I hope yours clears up faster than mine.

    Thanks Helen.

I think my cold was courtesy of work-colleague who manfully hauled his horribly coughing self into work day after day last week and who made us all horribly nervous and uninclined to stand next to him. My dear chap, we all thought, you are INFECTIOUS. Therefore you should BUGGER OFF.

    Bah.

    *cough*

*hands Reed a box of kleenex, a hot toddy, and an extra 48 hours to tuck between today and tomorrow so she can stay in bed*

My son went to school today complaining of a sore throat and I have one too - it’s that time of year, I guess! Hope you are eating plenty of vitamin C-rich foods!

Remind people you’re not dead, if you’re dead you never get invited to parties!

It’s alway good to celebrate that we’re alive so lets celebrate the non demise of Reed.

Yayyyyyyyyyyy! Reed has non-demised. (Puts on party hat)

My poetry gene has a need
So often it goes to read Reed
    But there’s nothing here
    To give me good cheer
On Lim’ricks I will have to feed!

Reed thanks everyone very much indeed for their kindness and concern, and is forwarding Archie’s limerick to her husband, to prove that she has real really cool internet friends so there.

And she likes the idea of a not-dead party very much.

    Rum punch, anyone?

Can it not be arranged that you manage to give your colleague a cold just before the Xmas holidays or something? Harvest the germs now…

Something to say?
